Steve Hillage is not credited on this recording because of legal dispute between the label Tapioca and Virgin, who claimed that the name Gong was its propriety, and with whom Steve Hillage was under contract in 1977. Virgin’s action to try to prevent the release of this album failed but it resulted in Hillage being not credited and his face being blanked on the inner gatefold picture. Steve Hillage’s presence is still acknowledged in Daevid Allen’s text in his spiral cover art : “Les museochiens du GONG […] Submarine Capt Spillage…”
